I tried this as I am in the UK and thought I had seen Canada mentioned somewhere in my attempts to get it working. What did work for me - I connected to Canada using my Private Internet Access VPN service, after which the activation process worked fine. Afortunately, we used the free version before to buy the porfesional licences, that was our first intention. If I clean the registry then it works once again en then bugs again. If i run the activation everything will work but the software will not start. Once I restart it it will take me to the registration window once again. Once I have closed the software and I try to restart it the draftsight start-up windows pops-up and then the software seems to start but direclty shuts down. I install 2018 SP2 or 1 it does not matter which and can go through the activation process fine and start the software once. Does anyone have an idea? I have a simillar issue. I double click to the shortcut, it popped up like normal and started to load but before I could see anything load on the screen, the application closes. Yesterday I have upgraded my my laptop harddrive to SSD, I re-installed my Windows 10 Pro. Hello, last week I have installed DraftSight 2018 SP1 and I did the activation successfully. All my dwg file have now been re-tagged as BabaCAD. Among others I located and loaded babacad. In desperation I have searched for substitute software. I started using it several years ago, but the trouble started when my laptop was stolen from my vehicle. I am having same problem in starting Draftsight. In case you get following error which is due to non-internet connectivity, simply click OK to use DraftSight. You should get an email for completing the activation process. You should now get the Activation window. Now connect to internet required and start DraftSight. Simply select and delete SWActivation key. Close any running application optional but recommended.
